In The Beginning...

When the former owners of Turbo Way elected to discontinue all operations, we (KCI, Inc.) already being the contracted developer/manufacturer, seized the opportunity to buy Turbo Way and make some long needed improvements and price adjustments. In July of 2002 we pursued an aggressive redesign of the ramp products. With the aid of Skywest, Horizon, Comair, ASA, America West and Mesa Air Group, we spent several months addressing several improvements and modifications to improve wind stability, brakes, weight, towing, handrails, locator rod, rubber foam filled wheels and other areas that we saw opportunity for improvement. At the same time we were able to significantly reduce the entire cost of the ramps. When we were done creating the new KCI passenger ramps, we had created (multiple) incredibly refined products that are virtually maintenance free after initial setup. As a result, we have taken orders for, and produced hundreds of these new ramps for customers across the country.

In addition to standard passenger ramps, we now produce a variety of other GSE solutions, including solutions for Jet Bridge to Ground Level, Air Stairs, and CRJ steps, Jet Bridge Adaptors and Carry on Carts.
